Holi Festival of Colour

So , I've joined in with another challenge for March that is Instagram based. Every 3-4 days we post a new mani having been given the prompt. Today's prompt was Holi - which, when I googled it, I realised was a Festival of Colours ( not another new nail technique that I was unfamiliar with!!!)

As you can see, the mani needed to be colourful, to say the least , so I went to my gorgeous newly purchased Helmer (how can anyone love a storage solution - but I've spent hours putting all my polish in colour coordinated drawers and I love it!!!). I used the photo above to select 5 polishes and a neutral colour for my undies!!!

Here's my selection - Opi Youre so Vain-illa, Opi Life Gave Me Lemons, Urban Decay Chaos, China Glaze Dashboard Dreamer, China Glaze Reggae to Riches and Barry M Lemonic, and this was the result!!!

I dotted small blobs of each colour randomly on each nail - that I'd previously painted with Opi You're so Vanilla - then used a small make up sponge to smudge the colours together. It was only after I'd finished the clean up that I kind of wished I'd taken a photo first, because with all the excess polish from the sponge on the skin around my nails, I looked like one of the festival goers covered in coloured powder!!!
