So I've been doing nail art now for the grand total of 4 months and I'd like to think that my manis are improving slowly but surely!!
I have joined lots of nail art challenge groups both on Instagram and Facebook and to date, all my photos of my manis have been taken on my iPhone and then posted on the relevant social media site.
Whilst I don't claim to be a photographer (or a nail artist for that matter!!) I am often disappointed that my photos can appear blurry and they don't really do the mani justice.
I mentioned this to a couple of my Ig followers over the weekend (Miriam @lacquart and @purjoinails) and they very helpfully pointed out that it could be that my iPhone camera is focussing on the polish bottle rather than my nails.
I straight away reached for my little used Nikon D3100, purchased a tripod and set about my next mani. I still don't claim to be a photographer but I was thrilled with the results!!!
Taking the photos on my digital SLR is more time consuming - setting up the camera and tripod, downloading the photos onto my laptop , uploading the photos onto Box and then sharing the link via text message to my phone so that I can post on Ig and FB (please someone tell me if there is a quicker , smarter way of doing this!!) - but it's definitely worth it in my opinion!!!
Xoxo
I have a feeling it just deleted my comment...
ReplyDeleteJust said that you're doing a fantastic job and the new pics are looking so much better! I'm sure you'll continue to improv. It has also inspired me to do a blog post about my photo process, which might be useful or at least mildly interesting to some people! - Miriam / Lacquart
